Our Story
Long ago in a land far away, a young mother Aida and Her sister Noha opened up a little whole in the wall restaurant made up of four tables and a tiny homelike kitchen on Pierre El Jmaiel street in the capital city of Beirut, Lebanon.
The restuarant was an overnight success. Aida's daughter Joyce joined the duo helping them after school and on the weekends as the waitress. As life happened, the restaurant was eventually sold. Noha moved to Iraq with her new husband. Joyce got married to an airline pilot Majed Aboulhosn, had a daughter Jinan plus four other children to boot. Aida moved to America to be with her sons after her husband passed. Joyce and her family traveled the world residing in over six countries through the years, mainly in the far east.
In 1984 the Aboulhosns' setteled in Orange County, California. Joyce and her mother Aida decided to team up for a second time and opened a pizza place in Anaheim, then another in Fullerton. Embracing her worldly exposure, living in hotels for most of her life Jinan found herself pursuing a career in the hospitality industry which always felt like home.
I am Jinan Montecristo. In November 2009, my parents Joyce and Majed, my husband Juan Carlos and I decided to continue what is becoming a tradition for the women in our family and embark on a new adventure in beautiful Downtown Fullerton. Infusing mother's unequivocal talent for creating Lebanese food, with my experiences and vehemence, I knew that this foursome can inject something very special to this diverse, up and coming city of Fullerton. Eight months later on July 31.2010 Les Amis opened its doors for the first time, introducing all our patrons to our Lebanese Cuisine. Ever since, we have prided ourselves on delivering delicious Lebanese foods and Les Amis creations made of the freshest and most natural ingredients plate by plate.
For our family, food is a passion that must be released from the heart. Our dishes are prepared for you as we prepare them at home for those we love most. During your visit, we trust that every dish is wonderful; every interaction is inviting and every visit escapes you to the Mediterranean.
